    Zoe, I love how your website is personalized and speaks to your interests. The photos are great! I especially like your About Me section, as it shared a little more about you and your life. The blog feature was also a fun idea, plus it provides na opportunity to write more!

Blog post 2: Data & Digitization

       While reading chapters two and three of The Digital Humanities Coursebook, by Johanna Drucker I was able to further my definition of digital humanities. While reading these chapters helped develop my definition it also broadened it. I did not realize just how many specific concepts fall under it. The second chapter dived into the data portion of the definition. This chapter talked about all the different ways that data can be used whether it was through structured or unstructured data. My main takeaway from this chapter is that "Data are the basic units of almost all digital works" (Drucker 27). In chapter three we expanded on the formats that digital humanities can be developed into, which could range from creating HTML with online tools to films and sound recordings. Quantifying and Visualizing Literature

 Digital humanities is such a broad term. As I have read the chapters, I realized that every definition is also very broad. That makes it easy to find example for each term, but hard for me to understand it specifically. I am retraining my brain to think more openly about ideas or new words I learn. When it comes to data analysis, there are tools used that can be very helpful to make inferences and comparisons. The quote used in the model was perfectly states that with so much data and information, tools mine for "meaningful patterns associations, and defining feature." To me, the quote explains data mining and analysis to a T. As I have been using Voyage, it is a great tool to dissect a big or small quantity of text.
